Plate Earthing System
A traditional and highly effective grounding method. Uses a 600x600mm Copper or GI Plate buried deep with a dedicated watering mechanism for maximum fault current dissipation.
System Overview
The Plate Earthing System is designed for areas requiring a large surface area contact with the soil. In this system, a large plate (Copper or Galvanized Iron) is placed vertically at a depth of usually 3 meters.
A GI Pipe (Watering Pipe) with a funnel is connected to the pit to ensure moisture reaches the bottom. The plate acts as the main electrode, while the surrounding layers of Charcoal and Salt retain moisture and improve conductivity.
